Meet Dawn, a creative force who weaves strategy and imagination into every project with a wit and authenticity.
She's not just a powerhouse in the creativity industry; she's your go-to for sparking ideas, crafting compelling stories, and bringing them to life. Through her leadership, she's helped build vibrant, award-winning creative teams but has also played an integral role in building one of the largest woman-owned and woman-led advertising agency in Texas.
Dawn's love affair with storytelling began in her childhood, reading books and watching movies, commercials, and videos until they were practically burned into her brain (thanks, VHS!). It's this passion that drives her to shape how we see the world, both real and imaginary. Over the years, she's honed her craft, directing nearly 100 projects for some of the largest civic organizations, education, travel, and healthcare in the nation.
But it's not just about the creative endeavors for Dawn. What truly lights her up is giving back. For over 25 years, she's been a champion for change, mentoring, advocating, and serving on the boards of various arts, education, and creative organizations. From the AIGA National Board to local initiatives like Girls Inc of Tarrant County, she's been there, making a difference.
Today, you'll find Dawn wearing multiple hats—Partner, President, and Creative Director—at Alpha Business Images, LLC (ABI) in Dallas, Texas where she also lives with her husband, Derek.
She'd love to hear from you. Hit her up at hello@dawndavidson.com.
The Ad Council is where creativity and causes converge and I serve on the National Advisory Council. As the BLM movement continued to unfold, I wanted to dive-in in a meaningful, actionable way and help educate and advocate for the comprehensive safety and security of people of color. Through my time on the committee we have been thought partners on several campaigns and initiatives including racial justice, healthcare inequity, vaccine education, and economic mobility.
My desire to make a larger impact by helping to drive the organization forward for members motivated me to serve on the national level as Nomination Committee Chair, Corporate Relations Chair, and Secretary of the board helping to build a more diverse, inclusive, strategic, and forward-thinking organization. I’m not new to the organization, giving back for more than a decade locally as a mentor, advisor, speaker, portfolio judge and content contributor.
Girls Inc is a place where girls grow strong, smart and bold. It’s a place where my true calling for advocacy was cultivated. I’m currently serving on the Marketing/Fund Development Committee where I help hone strategy and offer thought leadership around specific initiatives. At Girls Inc I can speak up for what is right and move to action for equity and equality.
