Creativity is problem-solving.

Growing body of work.

What I'm most proud of as an ad agency executive is the ability to lead a team of creative professionals. It was a hard-fought journey, especially for someone who strives to excel as an AI creative executive. The challenges I faced have only strengthened my resolve to leverage strategic storytelling as an executive creative director.

Thanks to books and music videos, I've loved storytelling my whole life.

Or somewhere close...

I’m Dawn, an ad agency executive who is part strategist, part storyteller, and entirely creative. I bring imagination and intention to every project, blending big ideas with sharp execution and just the right dose of wit and authenticity.

Throughout my career, I’ve helped brands find their voice and guided creative professionals in discovering their rhythm. In the process, I’ve built award-winning teams and contributed to the growth of one of the largest woman-owned, woman-led advertising agencies in Texas. While I take pride in the work, I’m even prouder of the talented people behind it.

My love for storytelling began early in life. I was that kid who wore out VHS tapes watching commercials, movies, and music videos on repeat. That obsession turned into a passion and eventually led me to become an executive creative director. Over the years, I’ve directed hundreds of video projects across civic, education, healthcare, and travel industries, helping shape how people perceive the world and what actions they take next.

What truly lights me up is giving back. For more than 25 years, I’ve mentored creatives, served on national and local boards, and championed change in the arts, education, and beyond. Whether advocating through AIGA National or cheering on girls at Girls Inc. of Tarrant County, I believe in lifting others as I climb.

Currently, I serve as Partner, President, and Executive Creative Director at Alpha Business Images (ABI) in Dallas, Texas, where I also live with my husband, Derek.

I Coach Creatives.

The Creative Leadership Coach™

Helping creative professionals become confident, emotionally intelligent, and strategically impactful leaders. I coach the minds behind the magic, including ad agency executives and AI creative executives, as they navigate the shift from doers to directors, and makers to mentors. Through a blend of psychology, storytelling, and strategic storytelling, I assist leaders—both in-house and independent—in advertising, design, marketing, and media to step into their power without losing their creative core. My framework, The Creative Brain on Leadership™, and my signature C.R.A.F.T. Method™ are designed to unlock clarity, confidence, and legacy-driven impact for executive creative directors and their teams.

“You don’t need another productivity hack. You need a coach who speaks creative.”

Because you’re not just managing projects and a team—you’re shaping culture, driving ideas, and carrying the weight of the heart of the work. You need someone who speaks your language and can help you navigate with ease and grace.

Let's get started.

Leadership, Service is in my DNA

THE AD COUNCIL NATIONAL ADVISORY MEMBER

The Ad Council is where creativity and causes converge, and as an ad agency executive serving on the National Advisory Council, I feel a strong responsibility to engage meaningfully. As the BLM movement continued to unfold, I wanted to dive in as an AI creative executive, helping to educate and advocate for the comprehensive safety and security of people of color. Throughout my time on the committee, we have collaborated as thought partners on several campaigns and initiatives, including strategic storytelling around racial justice, healthcare inequity, vaccine education, and economic mobility.

AIGA NATIONAL EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBER

My desire to make a larger impact by helping to drive the organization forward for members motivated me to serve on the national level as Nomination Committee Chair, Corporate Relations Chair, and Secretary of the board. In these roles, I aimed to build a more diverse, inclusive, strategic, and forward-thinking organization, especially for creative professionals. As an ad agency executive and former executive creative director, I understand the importance of strategic storytelling in our industry. I’m not new to the organization, having given back for more than a decade locally as a mentor, advisor, speaker, portfolio judge, and content contributor, which includes insights as an AI creative executive.

YOUTH VANTAGE ALLIANCE BOARD CHAIR (HOME OF GIRLS INC. + TDK + VANTAGE POINT)

In our mission, we collaborate with creative professionals, including ad agency executives and AI creative executives, to enhance our strategic storytelling. Together, Girls Inc. of Tarrant County, Tarrant County Kids, and our YouthVantage Mentorship Programs provide a seamless network of support for families and the community, led by our executive creative director.
